Live a Little, Steal a Lot (aka Murph the Surf)

Topkapi in real life
This movie was originally named "Live a Little, Steal a Lot" and is a somewhat distorted recreation of the real life break in of the Museum of Natural History in New York City by South Florida daredevils Allan Kuhn, played by Robert Conrad, and Jack Murphy. Presumably the movie was renamed Murph the Surf due to the individual notoriety of Jack Roland Murphy, who was gifted as a concert violinist, university varsity tennis player, Surfing Hall of Famer, and after a long stint in prison for a later murder in Florida, his conversion to Christianity and subsequent release from prison in the 1980's who has now become a gifted prison evangelist and leader in the Bill Glass founded "Champions for Life" international prison ministry.

Murph once admitted that the Peter Ustinov thriller "Topkapi", which came out in August of 1964 and starred Peter Ustinov in a movie about a complex jewel theft in an Istanbul museum, inspired Jack Murphy and his friends to pull a similar stunt in...

Great story even if it's only sorta kinda but mostly almost true!
This is a fun movie and yes, these guys really did engineer one of the most daring jewel heists of the 20th century. At the Museum of Natural History, no less!! Watch this and then use the G word to get the rest of the story. You won't be disappointed.

Great flick
This is a classic , it has that great midnight movie feel to it , it is also an extremely rare film
